To crib directly from Wikipedia “Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators trace over footage, frame by frame, for use in live-action and animated films.”
This gif is my first pass at this technique, from this original gif of Buster Keaton:

  2. Thank you! I honestly couldn’t tell you an exact number unfortunately. I worked on it intermittently between other projects over the course of about three days for about an hour or two at a time, so that might give you some idea.
